Community VNA Sponsors Child Health Clinics

Community Visiting Nurse Association Provides Child Health Clinics to Local Residents

At our Child Health Clinics, Community VNA provides well baby check-ups and immunizations for newborns, toddlers and pre-school children, as well as immunizations for children aged 18 and under who are attending school. There is no charge for this service.  The nurse, registered dietitian and physician assess the growth and development of the children who attend.  In addition, parents receive information and education on child health.  The clinics are conducted in conjunction with local health departments for families without health insurance.  The State of New Jersey requires all children to comply with mandated immunizations in order to attend preschool, day care, public and private schools, starting from birth through grade 12.

Immunizations are one of the most important necessities a parent can provide to protect their children’s health. Today, we can protect children from many diseases.  Failure to vaccinate may mean exposing children to the risk for serious diseases.  “Promoting Community Health is an important part of Community VNA’s mission and vision.  We are proud to partner with the local Departments of Health to promote child wellness,” stated Alyce Brophy, President/CEO.

Community Visiting Nurse Association and its affiliates, Community VNS, Community Home Care and Community Care Hospice, are non-profit home health and hospice providers serving Somerset and Middlesex counties since 1948.  They are licensed by the State of New Jersey, certified by Medicare and Medicaid and accredited by Community Health Accreditation Program(CHAP).  Community VNA provides home health care, hospice care and community care services.
